Pune or Poona is fondly called as Punyanagari in old times is the second largest city in the state of Maharashtra, India. It is also the seventh largest metropolis in India. It has a very rich heritage and its existence dates back to 847 AD.
It is culturally rich and was at one time the political epicenter of the Maratha rulers and later on the Peshwas who were the Prime ministers in the Maratha kingdom. Geographically it is located in the lap of Sahyadris or Western Ghats and Mula-Mutha flowing through the city.
Because of it's rich history and pristine location there are ample places around the city which one can visit. Broadly classifying the various places around Pune, my efforts are to explore the places and help others who wish to do the same.
